Sunday’s North London derby triumph was the third consecutive away success the Gunners have claimed under the young manager, who emulated Wenger’s achievement with the marginal win.

How Arteta matched Wenger

By defeating Spurs in the derby, Arsenal have won six straight road matches under their Spanish manager, thus tacking up success that last happened under their longest-serving boss.

Stretching to last season, Arteta's team have defeated Brighton (3-0), Wolverhampton Wanderers (2-0), Spurs twice (3-2, 1-0), Manchester United (1-0) and Aston Villa (2-0), seeing the Spaniard edge closer to Wenger’s side that clinched eight consecutive victories on their travels across two seasons in 2013 — beating Swansea twice (2-0, 2-1), West Bromwich (2-1), Fulham twice (1-0, 3-1), Queens Park Rangers (1-0), Newcastle United (1-0) and Sunderland (3-1).

What comes next?

Arsenal’s next Premier League fixture takes them to the Etihad Stadium on September 22 to take on Pep Guardiola’s Man City.

Before the Gunners push for a seventh straight road success, they must navigate a tricky Champions League match-up with last season’s Europa League winners Atalanta three days prior to the top-of-the-table tussle in Manchester.
