Then for winning a gold medal and becoming world champion, she earned $70,000. Now it has been reported by nalathletics.com that Amusan won an equivalent of $58,000 (N43,5 million) in Diamond League earnings for the year 2022.

This made her the sixteenth-highest earner amongst all athletes that competed in the Diamond League circuit, as Jamaica's Shericka Jackson topped the list with $99,500.

According to the report, presumably many of the athletes at the top of the earnings table, particularly those in marquee events, made more money from appearance fees than from winning.

Amusan successfully defended her Diamond League 100m Hurdles title in a Meeting Record of 12.29s. In addition to winning the world title and running a WR, she also retained her Commonwealth Games title in a Games Record of 12.30s - All these made her the first Nigerian athlete in history to attain the feats.
