‘The biggest result for them’ - Liverpool legend heaps praise on Chelsea’s win against the Reds

Chelsea claimed an important 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday evening, handing Arne Slot his third defeat of the season.

The Blues needed a late goal in injury time from Estevao, who came in as a substitute, to seal the win in the game.

Following their third defeat in a week, Carragher criticised Arne Slot's Liverpool performance in the game.

According to Daily Mail, Carragher said, "From Chelsea's point of view, it is a fantastic result for them, the biggest result for them under Enzo Maresca, I would think, in his tenure, certainly at Stamford Bridge," he said. 

"He won the Club World Cup, of course, but in terms of the togetherness and what it meant, I think it was an unbelievable victory for them.

"That was a victory that does a lot for the manager. I love the manager's celebration, I love running down the touchline... That will build a connection with the supporters. I said a lot last season with Enzo Maresca. 

“I think he's a really good manager and coach, and every time they come up against Liverpool, they seem to have a plan to get the better of them. 

“But at times, there wasn't that connection with supporters, and maybe that was waning in the last few weeks again. A win like that against the champions creates a really strong bond."
