While he does not think Victor Osimhen will remain at Galatasaray beyond this summer, Turkish football analyst Nihat Kahveci has ruled out the possibility of him joining their Istanbul rivals on account of Osimhen’s loyalty.

Fenerbahce’s interest

As Pulse Sports reported, Fenerbahce were one of the Turkish clubs offered the chance to sign the Nigerian last summer; however, they passed on the opportunity.

Seeing the error in their decision, with the Nigerian set to lead their rival, Galatasaray, to a league and cup double, the Yellow Canaries have entered the race for Osimhen and are believed to be wealthy enough to trigger his release clause and afford his sizable wages.

Fenerbahce’s president, Ali Koc, also openly flirted with the Nigerian, tagging him as a once-in-40-years striker who is too big to play for Galatasaray.

What Kahveci said

Despite the not-so-subtle interest from the Yellow Canaries, Kahveci argues Osimhen would not betray the love of Galatasaray fans by signing for a direct rival. Also, he warned that the love, which the player himself admitted to being overwhelmed by, could quickly turn to hate should he cross the divide.

"It would be a surprise for me if Osimhen stays. They say 'Fenerbahçe is on the table'. The Osimhen I see will not go to Fenerbahçe,” he said, per NtvSpor.

“If he goes, he will experience the opposite of 700 thousand tweets. This is the atmosphere here, I don't think he will go to Fenerbahçe. There was a shock when he came. If we see Osimhen in a Fenerbahçe jersey next year, I think it will be the biggest shock in football history.

“Will Fenerbahçe find the 75 million euro transfer fee? They will. Will they give Osimhen 20 million euros per year? They will. In my opinion, despite all these things, Osimhen, who is talked about so much about Galatasaray and is loved, I see the possibility of him wearing the Fenerbahçe jersey and playing in the Super League as 0.001 percent. I can multiply these zeros as well. I'm also leaving that 01 because players we never expected went to places we never expected."
