Ikpeba speaks highly of Osimhen and Chukwueze
Ikpeba commended the winger for his creative impact and the understanding he shares with Osimhen.
"There is competition for positions in the national team," Ikpeba stated during a SuperSport broadcast.
"We should not forget that both players played for the U17s many years ago, so they know themselves very well. That's what we want to see; this combination has been fantastic."
While striker Victor Osimhen has garnered most of the headlines for his six goals, including a hat-trick against Benin, Ikpeba emphasised that Chukwueze was a key creative force for the team.
The Fulham forward quietly racked up four assists in seven qualifying matches, establishing himself as one of the squad's most effective playmakers.
His strong connection with former U17 teammate Osimhen was particularly evident, as he set up the striker for three of his goals.
