Terry and Drogba SNUBBED: Chelsea star Madueke selects Dream XI

Ahead of Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup opening game, Noni Madueke has unveiled his ultimate footballing line-up, blending global superstars with club legends.

The England winger’s subjective choices reflect his preferences and childhood idols, making each selection unique.

Madueke's chosen line-up features some of the game's most celebrated figures, including four players who hold legendary status at Chelsea.

Operating in a 4-3-3 formation with two advanced midfielders, Madueke selected Manuel Neuer as his goalkeeper, citing him as the best in his lifetime, supported by a remarkable trophy cabinet including a World Cup and Champions League titles. 

In defence, the Blues man surprisingly placed Sergio Ramos at right-back, acknowledging his centre-back prowess but recalling his origins in that wider role. 

Thiago Silva earned a spot at centre-back, with Madueke praising his consistent dominance against strikers despite his age, along with his exceptional ability on the ball. 

Virgil van Dijk completed the central defence, recognised for his formidable presence that rarely appears troubled. 

At left-back, Madueke chose Ashley Cole, highlighting his friendship, well-rounded game, and positive character.

In midfield, N’Golo Kante earned the defensive midfield role, with Madueke recalling the Frenchman’s undoubted quality and accolades. 

Frank Lampard, recognised as perhaps the greatest goalscoring midfielder ever, took a central midfield spot.

Lionel Messi was chosen as the attacking midfielder, lauded as arguably the greatest player of all time.

The forward line featured Kylian Mbappe on the right wing, despite it not being his natural position, selected as the best player of Madueke's generation. 

Neymar took the left wing, admired for his unparalleled skill, technique and end product. 

Cristiano Ronaldo led the line as striker, Madueke's favourite player of all time, described as the ultimate goalscorer capable of hurting defenders in every way imaginable. 

Madueke selected Silva as captain, valued for his leadership, passion and motivating aura.
