Tatum, Porzingis shine as Celtics take down Knicks in season opener

The Celtics began their season knowing anything but a championship would be considered a failure and they flew out of the gates against the Knicks.

Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis found a rhythm to open up the offense, combining for 64 points. Jaylen Brown found a few lanes to attack the basket but was enduring a difficult night, finishing with 11 points.

Immanuel Quickley was the major source of scoring for the Knicks, pouring in  24 points, including a highly efficient 5-of-7 from three-point range.

The Celtics return to TD Garden for the home opener on Friday night against the Miami Heat.
