Talk about composure - Cristiano Ronaldo's heart rate shocks the world after losing penalty

Portugal's Euro 2024 last-16 clash with Slovenia ended in a penalty shoot-out which the Portuguese team won.

The Al-Nassr star had the chance to put his team in the lead in injury-time from the penalty spot but Jan Oblak saved his kick.

After the penalty, Ronaldo's heat beat was tracked which showed surprising new data that has kept talking. 

Ronaldo was seen putting on a WHOOP 4.0 strap below some wrist strapping that tracks his heart rate during games. 

According to WHOOP data, as reported on X, Ronaldo's heart rate was at its lowest point of the night, at about 100 bpm, suggesting that he was unfazed by the pressure.

The forward was still full of confidence and was composed till the end of the game despite not scoring a penalty.

In extra time, Roberto Martinez's team had a chance to grab the lead after Diogo Jota was fouled inside the box and they were awarded a penalty.

Ronaldo took the penalty kick in an attempt to record his first goal in this year's tournament, but Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak stopped him.

The 39-year-old got an opportunity to make amends when he offered himself to take Portugal's first penalty kick in the shootout. The Al-Nassr striker scored, even though Oblak dove the right way.

Thanks to the heroics of goalkeeper Diogo Costa, Portugal won via penalty shootout and advanced to the quarterfinals.
