The Nigerian striker, who joined the Spanish club in 2024 from Leicester City, made 11 appearances and scored three goals across competitions before being loaned out to Middlesbrough in January.

At Middlesbrough, he played 15 Championship matches, netting one goal and providing two assists.

However, under Sevilla manager Matías Almeyda, Iheanacho fell out of favour and was excluded from the club’s opening three La Liga matchday squads this season, leading to the early contract termination.

Within just three days of his release, Celtic came to Iheanacho’s rescue, handing him a lifeline with a one-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional year.
