Stay here! — Ancelotti begs star not to leave Real Madrid amid interest from Messi and Ronaldo's clubs
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly pleaded with the club's captain, Nacho, not to follow through with his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
Nacho, 34, came up through the ranks at Real Madrid. However, he informed the club earlier in the season that he would allow his contract to run out as he sought a new challenge, thereby ending his 23-year association with Los Blancos as a player.
What Ancelotti said
Nacho recently led Los Merengues to a league and UCL double, cementing himself in history as one of the great Real Madrid captains to have lifted Europe's elite cup competition.
The centre-back started alongside Antonio Rudiger, and the pair kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund to help Real Madrid to their 15th Champions League title, underscoring his importance to Ancelotti's side.
Hence, the Italian tactician beseeched Nacho to rethink his decision and continue at the club, according to a report by Marca.
"Don't do something crazy; stay here, with us, at Real Madrid," Ancelotti reportedly told him.
As Pulse Sports reported, the La Fabrica graduate already has suitors monitoring his situation. Chiefly, Inter Miami, who are said to have already tabled him an offer, and Al Nassr through Cristiano Ronaldo, who reportedly placed a call through to him in his desire to form a reunion of ex-Real Madrid stars at the Faris Najd.
