Cleophas Shimanyula has warned that Kakamega Homeboyz will do everything to beat title-chasing Gor Mahia on Wednesday at Kasarani Stadium.

K’Ogalo will host their Football Kenya Federation Premier League opponents in a match that they must win in order to keep their title dream - which is facing an onslaught from Tusker – alive.

But Homeboyz’s chair has warned that it is not going to be a walk in the park for the Kenyan heavyweights.

"We don’t fear Gor Mahia," Shimanyula said. "It is a well-known fact that we have beaten them [Gor] before, not once or twice."

"There is no short cut; it is that simple; they will fall.

"There is a season we beat them home and away, and so they are just a normal team just like any other in the league. We managed to beat AFC Leopards, and now Gor Mahia should watch out."

The outspoken Abana ba Ingo chair said the aim is not to beat Gor Mahia and hand an advantage to Tusker, but their main focus is to collect maximum points in the midweek clash for their own benefit.

"It is not the case [to help Tusker]; we want to win all our remaining matches, and it happens that Gor Mahia is one of the fixtures," he added.

"We don’t care who wins the league anyway, but our focus is to beat Gor and just wait and see what will happen on Wednesday.

"I just want to warn Gor Mahia, it will not be business as usual; it will not be an easy game; we are prepared to do the damage; we want to finish the season on a high note; and it is a fixture we have to win at all costs."

Tusker will face Posta Rangers on Wednesday in the other match, whose result could have a major impact on the race.
