Sha’Carri Richardson has spoken for the first time following her arrest on January 29, 2026, in Orange County, Florida, for dangerous excessive speeding.

Authorities reported that she was travelling at 104 mph in a 65-mph zone while tailgating and weaving through traffic.

The 2022 world 100m champion was booked into the Orange County Jail and released after meeting a $500 bond.

In bodycam footage, the 25-year-old Olympic gold medalist can be seen apologising and pleading with the deputy to avoid jail time.

The Olympic 100m silver medallist shared a post on her Instagram stories, informing her fans that she did not skip training despite the earlier incident.

The American sprint queen accompanied the video with a caption revealing that she enjoyed her training session.

“Great day at practice!” she said.

Meanwhile, on July 27, 2025, Sha'Carri Richardson was arrested at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport following a physical altercation with her boyfriend, fellow sprinter Christian Coleman.

Security footage captured the 25-year-old shoving Christian Coleman into a column and yanking his backpack away during a heated argument at a TSA checkpoint.

The report also indicated that she threw a pair of headphones at him as he attempted to walk away from the situation.

Consequently, she was booked into the South Correctional Entity in Washington on a charge of fourth-degree domestic violence assault.

Despite the arrest, Christian Coleman declined to participate in the investigation and stated he did not want to be considered a victim.
