Sevilla sack Sampaoli ahead of Man United Europa League clash
Sevilla have announced that they have relieved Jorge Sampaoli of his duties following a bad run of form.
Sampaoli took the role in October, replacing Julien Lopetegui, who left for Wolves; he has now been sacked as Sevilla find themselves in a battle against relegation.

The sack ends Sampaoli's second spell at Sevilla, as he previously held the role at the club in the 2016/17 season, where he was in charge for 53 games.
The sacking comes before the international break, which precedes a run of fixtures crucial to Sevilla's season as they play Celta Vigo and a relegation tie against Valencia, sandwiched by a doubleheader against Manchester United in the Europa League quarter-final.
Sampaoli's torrid time at Sevilla
Sampaoli was brought in to replace Lopetegui, who switched to Wolves earlier in the season. Although Sevilla were struggling early in the season under Lopetegui, Sampaoli did not manage to remedy the situation.
Sevilla were dumped out of the Champions League, and although they are still going strong in the Europa League, the league is where their problem lies, as they are in relegation troubles.
Of his 31 matches in charge of Sevilla, he only won 13, lost 12, and drew six.
As we reported in detail here, Sevilla are already in conversations with former Eibar and Athletic Club manager Jose Luis Mendilibar to take over until the end of the season.
