Reports: NEC targeting Onduparaka darling

Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side NEC FC has reportedly ignited their interest in Onduparaka Football Club star Rashid Okocha.

Reports emerging from West Nile have confirmed that Okocha is a serious target for NEC and is thus set to get reunited with former coach, Hussein Mbalangu.

The pair have previously worked together at Onduparaka, and Mbalangu feels the player's experience will be helpful to his side in their first ever season in the topflight.

Okocha is currently the longest serving and has been with the Caterpillars since the 2019/20 season.

Meanwhile, NEC will have to fend off opposition from Onduparaka who want to tie down the player to a new contract and Arua Hill SC, who also consider him a serious transfer target.

It's believed his current contract expires in less than a month. He extended for a year in September 2022.

Okocha has spent four campaigns with Onduparaka in the topflight. He featured 24 times last season as they got axed to the FUFA Big League.
