Report: Manchester United reject Napoli's ₦75 billion bid for struggling forward
Manchester United have reportedly rebuffed Napoli's bid for Alejandro Garnacho, demanding more than double the Partenopei's offer.
The 20-year-old Argentina international has been on a steady rise since joining in senior team at the start of the 2022/23 season; however, for many at the club, he has not reached the desired heights.
A few weeks ago, he was embroiled in a dressing room leaks controversy, and along with Marcus Rashford, he was frozen out of the squad. Unlike the Englishman, however, Garnacho has been reinstated, but it did not stop the sharks from circling.
Napoli's bid rejected
Napoli have a standing interest in the Argentine, and following the seeming rift with Ruben Amorim, they reportedly believed they could convince the Red Devils to sell.
With the departure of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG imminent, the Partenopei quickly moved for Garnacho as an ideal replacement and sent in a bid worth around a reported £40 million.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils immediately rejected the offer, as they valued the Argentine for £82 million, a significantly higher fee than Napoli's proposal. Per the report, the Partenopei have no intention of matching that figure and have, as such, ended their pursuit of the winger.
