Rema: Afrobeats star joins elite list of ambassadors for Michael Jordan's signature brand
Months ago, Pulse Sports reported that Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, teamed up with a host of basketball legend Michael Jordan, and other NBA stars like Jayson Tatum and Luka Doncic.
The 23-year-old Nigerian music megastar is unarguably one of the biggest musical exports from Nigeria on the world stage.
Rema posed with the NBA legend himself Michael Jordan, who is one of the richest sportsmen in the world.
The MAVIN and Jonzing Records signee is no stranger to basketball, as he also performed at the 2023 NBA All-Star weekend halftime show alongside Tems and Burna Boy.
The photo of Rema and Michael Jordan left fans guessing as to the possibility of a potential collaboration with one of the most iconic names in sports.
Rema had also teased a potential partnership with the Jordan brand by posting a picture of a customized pair of Jordan sneakers with his name inscribed on it.

However, the Afrorave superstar left no hints as to whether or not he had joined the Jordan family.
Rema becomes brand ambassador for Jordan
This Thursday, the Calm Down crooner announced on social media what some fans had already guessed initially.
Taking to his official social network, Rema posted on X formerly known as Twitter: ‘I’m now with the Jordan family at age 23, the irony. @Jumpman23 #Ambassador’.
Rema joins an exclusive list of music stars who have collaborated with some of the biggest sportswear brands in the world including Wizkid, Davido, and Tems.
The deal further highlights Rema's impeccable value as unarguably one of the most marketable Nigerian singers in 2023.
The news comes barely three days after the Nigerian singer made history as the first African artiste to perform at the Ballon d’Or Awards ceremony.
Pulse Sports reported that Rema delivered a lovely rendition of his global hit record ‘Calm Down’ in front of some of the biggest stars in world football including Lionel Mess, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, David Beckham, amongst others at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
