Plateau United players reportedly rewarded with N100,000 each following win over Nasarawa United

The players of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Plateau United, have reportedly been rewarded with an overall sum of N2 million following their 1-0 victory over Nasarawa United.

The Jos club moved back into qualification spots for the 2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Super 6 playoff on Sunday, after a Silas Nenrot's 13th-minute deflected goal gave them the maximum points at home.

Plateau United redeem promise to players

Prior to Sunday's encounter, Plateau United's general manager Pius Henwan has reportedly promised to pay the 20 players in the matchday squad a N2 million bonus should they defeat visiting Nasarawa United.

Players of the club are now said to have recieved their bonus, following the victory, with each, getting a sum of N100,000.

The victory sees Plateau United currently sit in third place in Group A, seven points off leaders Bendel Insurance, with seven wins, three draws and five defeats after 15 matches.

Ilechukwu positive about Plateau United making Super 6

Plateau United manager Ilechukwu said after the victory that his squad would take their upcoming match more more seriously because it might determine their qualifying for the Super 6.

"We have three more games to go. We will take on Kwara in our next game away from home, and we hope to get something positive from that encounter," Ilechukwu said in a post-match interview on Sunday.

“We are happy that we got the three points (against Nasarawa United), which is the most important thing in football. With this result, we are positive about playing in the NPFL Top Six.

Plateau United's last three fixtures of the NPFL regular season will see them pay Kwara United a visit, host Remo Stars in Jos and wrap things up with El Kanemi.
