Over 200 Nigerians battle for over N7m jackpot in EA Sports FIFA23 gaming event in Unilag

World-famous sports video games developers and publishers EA Sports is set for a historic gaming event in Africa. 

EA Sports will host a FIFA23 Invitational Qualifiers competition in Lagos, Nigeria, this weekend. 

The event is set to be the first-ever licensed show from EA Sports in Africa, and it will take place on Saturday at the Unilag Sports Center, University of Lagos. 

With a growing gaming community, Nigerians are set to storm the Unilag Sports Center this weekend for another round of gaming fiesta. 

EA Sports has set aside a whopping sum of $10, 000, over N7 million, for what has been tagged a winner-takes-all battle. 

The FIFA23 football invitational is expected to welcome no fewer than over 200 Nigerians at the Sports Center. 

A total of 256 players are expected to be registered to fight for the cash prize when the competition gets underway this weekend. 

These players will be drawn into four groups of 64 with the top two players making it to the final where eight (8) players will lock horns for the main prize. 

The games will be four rounds in a knockout format, with four minutes allocated for each half and an additional four for tactics, substitutions and penalties (when possible). 

As the name implies, the invitational slated for the Unilag Sports Center is to find eight players who will advance to the final slated for Jul 8, 2023. 

The final on July 8 is for the grand prize of N7 million and will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch.
