NWFL Super 6: 'Photoshoot FC' record first victory thanks to Flamingos goalkeeper heroics

Confluence Queens nicknamed 'Photoshoot FC' bounced back with a convincing 2-0 victory over debutants Heartland Queens in the NWFL Super Six.

The important win helped 'Photoshoot FC' return to winning ways following their opening match defeat to Edo Queens.

The return of goalkeeper Sylvia Echefu from national team duty with the Flamingos (U17) proved to be a major boost for Confluence Queens.

Sylvia Echefu's return to the side provided enough confidence within the team. She kept a clean sheet, provided leadership, and co-ordinating the defense line.

The game failed to come to live in the opening half, with the scoreline locked at 0-0.

However, the second half exploded with goals and drama as Merit Offor found the back of the net. It marked her second goal of the tournament after scoring in the opener.

She converted a penalty in the 76th minute, breaking the deadlock and putting her team in the lead.

Just ten minutes after Offor's goal, she was substituted for Feranmi Odutade.

Feranmi Odutade didn't waste any time making her mark in the game as she rose above the defense to head home a crucial second goal just one minute after entering the pitch.

The victory put Confluence Queens in fourth place with 3 points on the table.
