NPFL Super Sunday: 3 MUST-WATCH matches and predictions in Nigeria's Football League

The excitement is palpable as the NPFL prepares for another action-packed round of matches in the Premier Football League. 

Matchday seven promises to be a thrilling spectacle, with eight matches scheduled across the country this Super Sunday. 

Here are the top three must-watch matches to keep an eye on and their predictions.

In what is arguably the marquee game of this matchday, Bendel Insurance host Remo Stars in Benin City, Edo State.

Insurance currently sits in 13th position on the table after four matches and will be eager to improve their standing against the league leaders, Remo, at home.

The Sky Blues are in superb form, having secured 12 points from a possible 15 so far in the league, including two remarkable derby wins.

This fixture promises to be a challenging contest, with both teams set to be tested. But the home side will go into this one as a slight favourite, given their head-to-head advantage at home.

Benin Arsenal have won one and drawn the other in the last two meetings between them, with that victory a 3-0 thrashing that Remo would love to avenge.

Rangers International welcome newly promoted Heartland of Owerri to the heart of Akwa. This encounter is a highly anticipated and respected derby known as the Oriental Derby in the eastern region.

The Flying Antelopes, Rangers, are determined to bounce back to winning ways after a recent 2-1 defeat to Lobi Stars. Fidelis Ilechukwu and his boys will be motivated to rectify mistakes from that game against Heartland, who are bottom of the table.

Rangers are favourites for this one and should not have a problem dispatching their neighbours in Akwa.

Akwa United, currently in need of more wins, face Plateau United in the picturesque city of Eket, Akwa Ibom State.

Akwa will host Plateau looking to build on their first win of the season which they secured on the previous matchday. 

The Promise Keepers relocated their home ground from Uyo to Eket after a string of poor results in the initial first five matches. This move paid off as they secured the first win of the season with a hard-fought win over Gombe United.

Akwa will aim to consolidate against seventh-placed Plateau, who have struggled on the road this campaign, losing all three of their away matches so far.
