The American youngster then proceeded to claim another third-place finish at the Millrose Games before claiming his first win of the season at the Tyson Invitational.
Noah Lyles Explains What Makes Jordan Anthony Unique
Following his defeat to Jordan Anthony, Noah Lyles explained the qualities that make the 21-year-old a one-of-a-kind sprinter.
Noah Lyles described him as a vibrant and dynamic presence within their camp. The four-time world 200m champion explained that Anthony brings enthusiasm and competitive fire to every session, consistently rising to the occasion and delivering strong performances when it matters most.
He also noted that Jordan Anthony’s playful banter has added a refreshing edge to their workouts, something he felt had been missing from the group dynamic for some time.
According to Noah Lyles, the atmosphere in training has improved significantly because they are able to challenge each other intensely while still maintaining mutual respect.
He added that their sessions are not only productive but also enjoyable, with both athletes pushing hard, exchanging light-hearted jabs, and then moving forward without lingering tension.
“Jordan's been a lot of fun. He's been very energetic. He's been very likely to get the job done. Great trash talker,” Noah Lyles said after the race.
“I've definitely missed that in the group. I feel like, you know, sometimes people can get a little too much in their feelings, but we've been having some amazing sessions where we can trash-talk, do well, and then keep it moving and still be cordial.”
Meanwhile, Noah Lyles has also been impressive indoors, finishing second in the 300m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. He went ahead to win the 200m at the Tyson Invitational before heading to the USATF Indoor Championships.
