Celebrated Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama was involved as CF Montreal registered another Major League Soccer loss after going down 2-0 to Nashville on Saturday night.
The former Celtic and Southampton midfielder was also yellow carded in the 34th minute as his side registered a third straight loss in the MLS's ongoing campaign.
Jacob Shaffelburg scored in the 37th minute before Taylor Washington – who had replaced Shaffelburg in the 66th minute – added the second goal in the 89th minute.
The home side – who are in their fourth season – were too good for the visitors, who are still looking for a positive result in the campaign.

Really tough start to the new era.
Positive spin? Still very early in the season and all three games were on the road. But not ideal.
Wanyama’s side was so poor that all eight of their shots missed the goal. On the other hand, Nashville goalkeeper, Joe Willis, didn't make a save and earned his 52nd career shutout.
Meanwhile, the league’s reigning Most Valuable Player and Golden Boot winner, Any Mukhtar, slid the ball towards Shaffelburg, who fired a shot past diving goalie Jonathan Sirois to give his side a 1-0 lead.
Nashville would have registered a second goal in the 69th minute, but Teal Bunbury’s shot – after a breakaway - hit the post.
Nashville – who completed 75.9 percent of its 174 passes before halftime – scored the second goal late in the second half through Washington, who recorded his first goal since October 2019.
Looking for their first win, after three straight losses, Wanyama’s Montreal will face Philadelphia on March 18.
