Nigeria's home-based Super Eagles B team is gearing up for their opening match against defending champions Senegal at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Nigeria vs Senegal preview
The Super Eagles B, comprising players from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), have been preparing for the tournament.
The Super Eagles defeated Ghana in a home and away jollof derby to qualify for the tournament.
Following a second-phase training camp in Zanzibar from July 25 to 31, the team played out a 0-0 and a 2-2 draw with Zanzibar in friendly games ahead of the CHAN.
Head Coach Eric Chelle has assembled a 23-man squad ahead of the tough group stage.
Senegal are the reigning CHAN champions and favorites to win against Nigeria in the opening match.
However, Senegal enters the tournament on the back of mixed pre-CHAN friendlies.
They lost 2-1 to Uganda and 2-1 to Tanzania in both warm up games ahead of the tournament.
Nigeria at CHAN
Nigeria won the Bronze medal in 2014 and were runners-up four years later.
They have had inconsistent performances in the tournament, which is exclusively for footballers with valid contracts in their home countries' domestic leagues.
Nigeria did not advance past the group stage in Rwanda in 2016.
The team did not qualify for the 2021 tournament held in Cameroon and also unfortunately missed the finals hosted by Algeria two years ago.
