Aside from the fact that they are the better side on paper, the three-time African champions also have a brilliant record against the Panthers.

The two sides have met four times in a FIFA World Cup qualifier, with the Super Eagles winning two, losing one and drawing one.

Overall, the Super Eagles have a positive record against Gabon, having lost just one of their eight games against the Panthers, winning five and drawing one.

Gabon will be dangerous

Eric Chelle’s men will now hope that they continue in the same vein when they take on the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-led team.

Gabon will be no pushovers against Nigeria

It will not be easy, though, as Gabon had the best record amongst teams that finished second in the group campaign.

The Panthers finished just one point behind Ivory Coast in their group, will definitely be no pushovers.
