NBA: Plans Unveiled for the New Oklahoma City Thunder Arena (photos)
Crowned NBA champions just over a month ago, the celebrations continue for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This week, plans for their new arena were unveiled, promising a state-of-the-art home for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates.
Oklahoma City to open new arena in 2028
Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt presented the plans that have now gone viral on social media.
The arena is being publicly funded and will then be leased to the Thunder for 25 years, until 2053, with a projected opening date of 2028.
Designed by David Manica of the eponymous architecture firm, the new arena will cost $845 million.
A standout feature is the transparent facade, offering views of the city from the concourse and bar areas.
The arena's capacity is yet to be finalised, as it may change during project development.
