Okagbare had a remarkable career as a track athlete, featuring a silver medal in the long jump at the 2008 Olympics, as well as silver and bronze medals in the long jump and 200m events respectively at the 2013 World Championships.
In addition, she holds the Commonwealth Games 100m record of 10.85s, and her personal best of 10.79s was the African Record until it was eclipsed by Murielle Ahouré in 2016 and then Marie Jose Ta Lou-Smith with 10.72s.
Sadly, Okagbare got suspended after failing a drug test on July 31, 2021 during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The following year, she was officially banned from athletics for 10 years, commencing July 30, 2021 for multiple breaches of World Athletics Anti-Doping rules.
