Moses Simon scores the winner as Paris FC beat Monaco to end their unbeaten run
Nigerian international Moses Simon continued his impressive run of form in France as his second-half strike handed Paris FC a crucial 1-0 victory over AS Monaco on Saturday in Ligue 1 action at the Stade Louis II.
The 29-year-old winger proved to be the difference-maker in a tight encounter, scoring the only goal of the game to seal all three points for Paris FC and end Monaco’s unbeaten start under new manager Sébastien Pocognoli.
After a cagey first half that saw few chances, Simon produced the decisive moment shortly after the restart. Paris FC captain Maxime Lopez skipped past a challenge from Monaco substitute Stanley Idumbo before finding Simon on the edge of the box.
The Super Eagles star’s initial shot took a slight deflection and looped awkwardly over goalkeeper Philipp Kohn into the back of the net.
The goal, Simon’s third of the season, proved enough to hand Paris FC their second league win of the campaign.

Despite a late push from the hosts, including a brilliant save by Kevin Trapp to deny Maghnes Akliouche, Paris FC held firm to secure a memorable away win.
The result also ended Monaco’s unbeaten start to the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season and marked their first home defeat in nearly a year.
Simon’s Growing Impact
Moses Simon, who joined Paris FC during the summer transfer window, has quickly established himself as one of the team’s key players.
With this result, Paris FC climb into the top half of the Ligue 1 table, while Monaco will be eager to bounce back after seeing their unbeaten run halted.
