‎Kenyan marathoners Brigid Kosgei, Geoffrey Toroitich, and Alexander Mutiso are set to receive a substantial payday following their impressive podium finishes at the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday.

‎Kosgei, Toroitich and Mutiso each secured podium spots in their respective races, guaranteeing them a share of the lucrative prize money on offer.

‎Kosgei's victory in the women's race, where she clocked 2:14:49, came with a first-place prize of $80,000. She also earned an additional $20,000 bonus for setting a new course record, bringing her total winnings to $100,000 (Ksh12.8 million) before taxes.

‎In the men's race, Toroitich claimed the runner-up position, after stopping the clock at 2:03:37 behind Ethiopian Takele Tadese, earning him $30,000 (Ksh3.8 million). Meanwhile, Mutiso finished third, securing a prize of $15,000 (Ksh1.9 million).

‎Together, the trio's total earnings from the single event amount to $145,000 (Ksh18.6 million), a testament to their world-class performances.
