A dramatic race unfolded at Brno. Marc Marquez secured his eighth MotoGP victory of the season, his fifth in a row, further extending his championship lead over his brother, Alex, who crashed out early in the afternoon.
This marks Marquez's 70th premier class win, putting him firmly on course for his seventh world title.
Marc Marquez Sprints Towards Seventh World Title!
Starting from pole, Francesco Bagnaia was immediately challenged by teammate Marc Marquez, who attempted a similar maneuver to yesterday's sprint race. This time, the 2022 and 2023 world champion held his ground and reclaimed the lead.
Marco Bezzecchi provided the race's surprise, overtaking Marquez in turn 5 and capitalizing on a Bagnaia error in turn 13 to briefly lead. Marquez, however, responded decisively with a pass in turn 3 on lap 8 and controlled the race from then on.
Behind Marquez, Bezzecchi fended off Pedro Acosta, who claimed his first main race podium for KTM in 2025. Bagnaia lost touch with the podium after being overtaken by Acosta on lap 3, and his late attempt to recover proved futile.
Raul Fernandez finished a solid fifth for Trackhouse Aprilia, while Fabio Quartararo, starting third, again underperformed, mirroring his sprint race result, finishing sixth. Reigning champion Jorge Martin recovered for a consistent seventh. A close battle ensued for the remaining top 10 positions, involving Fermin Aldeguer, Brad Binder, and Jack Miller.
Aldeguer crossed the line eighth, ahead of Binder, but a three-second penalty for exceeding track limits on the final lap dropped him to 11th. This promoted Binder to eighth, Pol Espargaro, who passed Miller on the last lap, to ninth, and Miller rounded out the top 10.
Alex Marquez and Joan Mir were involved in a turn 12 incident, with Alex losing control while attempting a risky overtake, taking out Mir in the process. This leaves Alex Marquez trailing Marc by 120 points with ten race weekends remaining.
