Manchester City on the brink of FA Cup history as they equal 57-year record
Manchester City’s dominance en route to the FA Cup final this season has been clear for all to see as the Premier League giants chase an incredible treble to close out what has been a tough 2022/23 campaign.
Manchester City reach FA Cup final after comfortable win over Sheffield United
The current Premier League champions reached the final of the FA Cup thanks to a Riyad Mahrez hat-trick to see off Sheffield United 3-0 in the semifinal played at Wembley and are favourites to win the trophy after a remarkable campaign so far.
They could face either Manchester United or Brighton in the final, but they will be confident they can get past either team with their perfect track record in this season.
Not only have the Cityzens beaten all comers, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Burnley, they have done it in convincing style, without so much as conceding a goal throughout the 2022/23 FA Cup season.
Manchester City chasing FA Cup history with sensational campaign
Manchester City’s five clean sheets in a row put them alongside Everton’s 1965/66 team, as the only teams in FA Cup history to reach the competition’s final without conceding a goal in any preceding match.
Everton won the Cup that year, but finally conceded in the final, where they beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2.

If Manchester City manage to keep another clean sheet in the final, they would have gone the entire FA Cup campaign without conceding a goal, going one step further than the 1965/66 Toffees team.
So far Manchester City have beaten Chelsea 4-0, Arsenal 1-0, Bristol City 3-0, Burnley 6-0, and Sheffield United 3-0 to put up one of the best FA Cup campaigns in history and they could crown it all with a victory in the final against either Manchester United or Brighton.
