Levante vs Barcelona: Flick speaks out! Barcelona boss breaks silence on Rashford’s latest display
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick expressed his thoughts on Marcus Rashford’s performance in the La Liga clash against Levante, where the Catalan giants secured a hard-fought 3-2 away win on Saturday night to maintain their perfect start to the season.
Barcelona found themselves two goals behind early on after Levante capitalised on space behind Barca’s high defensive line. Iván Romero broke through and scored in the 15th minute.
Later, Levante extended their lead with a penalty converted by Jose Luis Morales in stoppage time of the first half, following a VAR-reviewed handball by Barcelona’s Balde.

Despite starting brightly with promising early exchanges involving Rashford and young talent Lamine Yamal, Barcelona faced a tough challenge.
Ferran Torres hit the crossbar, and Levante missed a key chance, but the home side’s solid defense made life difficult for the visitors.
At halftime, Flick made crucial tactical changes, replacing Rashford and Marc Casadó with Dani Olmo and Gavi. The changes paid dividends as Pedri ignited the comeback with a stunning 25-yard strike early in the second half, followed by Torres’ volleyed equalizer from a corner.
The comeback was completed when Levante’s Unai Elgezabal turned Yamal’s cross into his own net in stoppage time, handing Barcelona a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Reflecting on Rashford’s display, Flick who praised their hosts per Barcelona video said, “Marcus had some situations in the first half and showed that he can help us. In the second half, we had to make a change and we put Raphinha on the wing, and I think they were the right changes. The first goal changed the game,” according to Marca.
Individually, Rashford impressed statistically, completing 100% of his passes, creating two chances, making two key passes, and successfully completing two dribbles during the match.
Flick’s comments shows his belief in Rashford’s ability to contribute to Barcelona’s attacking play, even as the team had to battle back from a difficult position to maintain their unbeaten start in La Liga.
