Letsile Tebogo revealed that he had attracted significant international interest, explaining that three countries, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Tunisia, had formally approached him with offers to switch allegiance.

The former world 100m silver medallist explained that his team had already outlined their expectations to the interested parties.

Letsile Tebogo also clarified that, according to his understanding, each of the offers involved a structured annual package, but despite the attention, none of the proposals had been accepted.

He further pointed out that Dubai and Qatar were the only options that were seriously considered, mainly because the team had to consider the strict regulations governing nationality changes in athletics.

“I've got three offers on the table. Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Tunisia. Those are the three offers that are on the table. And we are still trying to see and wait for the mayor with the guy inside,” Letsile Tebogo revealed in an interview with Duma FM.

“Because we told them what we are worth. And they are promising to up their game. Yes, that's how it is. It's something on the team. Every year, this is how much we can give you. But on a lighter note, the offers came, but they were all rejected.

“I think the only offer that we had was Dubai and Qatar because we had to be considerate. Being out of the sport for, I think, four years without you representing any country before you can migrate into the other country. So for now, there's no offer on the table.”

Letsile Tebogo: I Did Not See Through It

Letsile Tebogo said that he never fully anticipated the scale of his rise, admitting that becoming one of the fastest athletes in the world felt like the biggest achievement of his career.

He explained that at the start of the year, he had not yet understood the realities of life at the top level, but as the season progressed, he began to grasp how the sport works and the kinds of opportunities it can bring.

Despite acknowledging that his name is currently ‘on fire,’ Letsile Tebogo stressed that he does not intend to get carried away or act impulsively, insisting that he views everything with the discipline and focus of someone who considers athletics his full-time job.

“I didn't see through it, because for me, I would say I found myself having the biggest achievements ever, being the fastest in the world. For me, it was big,” he added.

“This year was kind of in the beginning, but as time went on, I started to understand this world, what it can bring to you, and what can be offered on the table. For now, it's everything. It's a job. It's my name's on fire, but I'm not going to do anything like that. I'm not going to work on that.”

For now, Letsile Tebogo seems content to let the speculation swirl around him while he concentrates on refining his talent.

With his rise far from complete, he insists that every decision must serve his long-term career, one he believes is only just beginning.
