Mosimane has been widely reported to have been in talks with Sundowns over a possible return to his former stomping ground, six years since leaving the Pretoria-based South African giants.

The 61-year-old enjoyed eight trophy-laden years at Sundowns from 2012-2020 before he left the club for stints in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Iran.

However, he has been reported to be in talks with Sundowns with a view to replacing current coach Miguel Cardoso. The veteran coach is, however, more focused on his personal projects than the Sundowns job at present, going by his latest social media post.

Mosimane’s latest update involves the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools, an initiate he started and which offers not only football training to youngsters in South Africa but also other life skills.

Mosimane Thrilled With New Partners

“We @pmyouthfootball are now with @Curro Waterfall Midrand with our mass participation program (physical Education), extra mural activities and also our Pitso Mosimane Football Club. Midrand community has been asking for the program, let’s come together now,” he posted on X.

The Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools and Pitso Mosimane Football Club for ages 6-18, offers integrated football programs and competitive training, continuing the veteran coach’s vision to develop young talent in the region.

Under the vision of ‘Creating the player of tomorrow’ the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools model provides a structured pathway for players aged between six and 18, guiding them firm grassroots development to high-performance training as they develop their football skills.

Mosimane’s rumoured return to Sundowns has excited fans and it remains to be seen if the reports are true or if Cardoso will see out his contract.
