La Liga has denied Barcelona's request to play their fourth-round fixture away at Valencia.
The champions were originally scheduled to host Valencia on September 14th but asked to reverse the fixture due to ongoing renovation delays at Camp Nou.
La Liga had already granted Barça's wish to play their first three matches of the season away from home, but the Catalan club pushed for one more concession.
Following the refusal, Hansi Flick's side must now find an alternative venue for their upcoming home game.
The issue is that the Estadi OlÃmpic LluÃs Companys is also unavailable. A Post Malone concert is scheduled there for September 12th, leaving insufficient time to dismantle the stage and address the likely damage to the pitch.
The match also cannot be held at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, as it does not meet the minimum 8,000-seat capacity required for a top-flight Spanish league game.
Another option being considered is to play the match at Girona's home ground, the Estadi Montilivi.
Meanwhile, the Blaugrana are working tirelessly to ensure the match against Valencia can still be played at Spotify Camp Nou.
However, they have yet to present the final certification for the construction work, and the deadline for obtaining the necessary permits is fast approaching.
