Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta brutally calls out former Super Eagles star as worst-dressed teammate
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has humorously revealed that former Super Eagles player Haruna Babangida was his teammate with the worst fashion sense during their shared playing days.
The Spaniard made the comment in a video posted on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, via Sports Bible.
Arteta and Babangida were teammates at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, where they also played alongside legends like Andres Iniesta and Victor Valdes.
While Babangida was known and respected for his talent on the pitch, Arteta playfully noted it was a different story when it came to his off-pitch style.
In the interview, where Arteta also described Nigerian legend Jay Jay Okocha as one of the best dribblers he ever played with, he did not hesitate to name Babangida as "the worst one" in terms of fashion.
"The worst one, Haruna Babangida, the Nigerian player that I shared," Arteta stated, drawing laughter and smiles.

Babangida, the younger brother of Super Eagles icon Tijani Babangida, was a technically gifted winger celebrated for his flair but also remembered for his quirky fashion choices.
While Babangida never made it to Barcelona's first team, his skills and personality left a lasting impression on teammates like Arteta.
This lighthearted admission by Arteta not only highlights the close ties formed at La Masia but also shows the lighter and human side of football legends off the pitch.
Arteta’s funny take sheds light on the memorable characters who shared the formative footballing journeys with him in Barcelona’s academy.
