Kenya's opening 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup fixture will see them face England after Sunday’s draw paired both teams in Group C.

The Junior Starlets, making their debut at the World Cup will also test their skills against Mexico and Korea Republic in the competition for a spot in the quarter-finals.

The draw, conducted by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on June 23, 2024, in the host nation, the Dominican Republic, placed Kenya in Pot 4.

Their inclusion in Group C sets them on a challenging path, with two of their group matches scheduled to be played in Santo Domingo.

After their initial game against England, the team will face Korea Republic on October 20, followed by a crucial match against Mexico on October 23 in Bochum.

Kenya’s road to the World Cup was nothing short of heroic as they secured their place by triumphing over Burundi with a 5-0 aggregate score in the final qualification match.

This victory not only propelled them into the World Cup but also made them the first Kenyan team of any age level or gender to qualify for a FIFA World Cup, adding a layer of national pride to their campaign.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 is set to run from October 16 to November 3, and all eyes will be on the Junior Starlets as they strive to make a significant impact in their first-ever World Cup appearance.

The teams were drawn into the following groups:

Group A: Dominican Republic, Ecuador, New Zealand, Nigeria

Group B: Spain, USA, Korea Republic, Colombia

Group C: Korea DPR, Mexico, Kenya, England
