The English winger arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2021, transferred from Borussia Dortmund for a hefty €100 million.

However, a falling out with Erik ten Hag saw Sancho lose his starting spot, and the situation didn't improve even after Ruben Amorim's arrival.

After two loan spells—back to Borussia Dortmund (in the latter half of the 2023/2024 season) and then to Chelsea (last season)—Sancho is on the verge of leaving Manchester United permanently.

AS Roma make bid for Jadon Sancho

According to Romano, via GSP, the English forward is close to signing with AS Roma. The Giallorossi have submitted an official offer for Sancho, who would initially join the Serie A side on loan for the upcoming season. Roma would then pay Manchester United around €23 million to make the transfer permanent.

The two clubs are currently negotiating the final details after Sancho reportedly gave the move the green light.

AS Roma wasn't the only club interested in the 25-year-old this summer. Since the start of the transfer window, Juventus, Fenerbahce, BeÅŸiktaÅŸ, and several Saudi Arabian clubs have been in discussions with both United's management and Sancho's agents, but no agreement was reached.

Furthermore, after the Club World Cup, rumors circulated about Sancho potentially returning to Borussia Dortmund permanently, but his financial demands were reportedly higher than what the German club was prepared to offer.

Sancho's time at Chelsea proved beneficial. In addition to getting more playing time than he likely would have at United (42 appearances in all competitions, with 5 goals and 10 assists), he also won his first international club title.

He was part of Chelsea's UEFA Conference League triumph, even scoring in the final against Betis, which the London side won 4-1.
