'It's Harder Than People Think' - Cole Palmer Urges Chelsea Fans to Be Patient After Everton Win
Chelsea's Cole Palmer has called for patience from fans, highlighting the demanding schedule his team faces after their 2-0 victory over Everton ended a difficult run of form.
The 24-year-old marked his first start at Stamford Bridge in four months with the opening goal, his third from open play in the Premier League this season.
The win was Chelsea's first in five matches, a stretch that included losses to Leeds and Atalanta and a goalless draw with Bournemouth.
Following the much-needed victory, head coach Enzo Maresca made a surprising claim, stating he had endured his "worst 48 hours" at the club and felt a lack of support from unnamed parties.

However, Cole Palmer defended his manager and teammates, suggesting that the physical toll of the fixture list is often underestimated.
"I've been out for a while, probably the longest I've ever been out, so I was itching to get back out there with the team," Palmer said as quoted by ESPN. "To start and score was a nice feeling."
"We've obviously had a difficult few games, and it's harder than people think, a game every three days. It's a lot of travel, and it's difficult, so to get the win is great."
Cole Palmer, who had not started a home game since the season opener, made his return to the starting lineup against Everton after a brief appearance at Bournemouth last weekend. His presence provided a clear lift, culminating in his 21st-minute goal.
"I didn't want to rush back too soon and then get injured again, and I'm still managing it, so it's just about getting better each day," Palmer explained.
"I enjoyed being back out there, and I'm still not near 100 per cent in terms of fitness and sharpness, but I'm getting there."
For Everton, the loss was a missed opportunity to break into the top four. Defender Jake O'Brien expressed his frustration with the result.
"We just gave them two goals at the start, and it kind of killed us for the rest of the game," O'Brien told the club's official website. "I think we got in good positions and on another day we take them and it's a whole different game."
"But the performance wasn't bad today. I'm disappointed by the result, but I think there are positives to take... We can bring that into next week."
Chelsea now prepare for their next opponent, Cardiff City, in the Carabao Cup Quarter-Final on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
