Infantino give President Trump key to Club World Cup, to lead FIFA World Cup task force

In the Oval Office, President Donald Trump hosted FIFA's head, Gianni Infantino, and signed an executive order about World Cup security.

Next summer, the United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the soccer showpiece.

Trump mentioned that both the 2026 World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, the president's last year in office, would be held in the United States.

The president also stated that he intended to attend one or more of the games being played in the United States in 2026.

According to a White House official, the 78-year-old has designated himself as chair, with his vice president, JD Vance, taking on the role of vice chair.

Infantino, the president of FIFA, was invited by Trump to the White House to present the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Trophy, which the United States will host this summer.

According to reports, it will also collaborate with federal authorities to plan, coordinate, and carry out the World Cup.

In June 2026, 48 teams will compete in 104 matches across 16 host cities as part of the World Cup, which will take place throughout the continent.

The United States has chosen to host games in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Kansas City, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, and New Jersey.

On July 19, 2026, MetLife Stadium will have the privilege of hosting the championship game. As president, Trump is probably going to accept the responsibility of handing the World Cup trophy to the competition's victors.
