'I got to say yes to forever' - Anna Hall announces engagement to NFL Star Darius Slayton after year-long relationship

From winning her first world title in Tokyo, to saying yes to forever to her NFL star boyfriend Darius Slayton, Anna Hall has had a fairytale 2025 season she could only be proud of.

The multi-talented athlete won the heptathlon gold medal at the World Athletics Championships September, becoming the first American to win the title in 32 years.

Following her historic feat, she recently announced her engagement to New York Giants wide receiver Slayton, marking a new chapter in her personal life.

The couple used the romantic moment to celebrate their year-long relationship, which has seen them vocal in their mutual support, attending each other's meets and games.

With the lovebirds recent announcment, the track and field community has responded with a wave of excitement.

Hall shared the news on Instagram with a photo of Slayton placing a ring on her finger at the very spot where they first met. Both were dressed in black, capturing an intimate moment in a heartfelt setting.

Their new champter quickly drew congratulations from fellow athletes such as world 400m champion and 400m Hurdles world record holder Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who commented under the postt. "🥹❤️ congratulations you two!"

Olympic 200m champion Gabby Thomas also shared her excitement, writing, "Congratulations!!!!!! 🥹🍾❤️." The well-wishes continued with Olympic gold-medalist gymnast Suni Lee adding, "congrats!!!🥹🥹🤍."

The engagement comes after a triumphant 2025 season for Hall, who secured the heptathlon world title in Tokyo. This victory was a significant turnaround after a challenging 2024 and followed a near-miss in 2023 when she finished with a silver medal.

Before her championship win, Hall spoke candidly about her initial self-doubt heading into the season.

"I found my joy again, I got my spark back," Hall said in an interview. "I think the beginning of this year, I really didn’t know what to expect, and I really didn’t believe in myself. I ran one indoor race, and then I was like, I’m not ready, and went back to training for three months instead of doing World Indoors."
