'I go dey alright' - Nigeria's new defender Osho sings Asake hit track in his Super Eagles initiation

Gabriel Osho, the newest defender for Nigeria's Super Eagles, entertained his teammates during his initiation by singing Asake's popular track "Skating." 

The 26-year-old showcased his musical flair in a fun video shared by fellow player Ola Aina on Snapchat, where he confidently belted out the hit song, much to the delight of his national teammates.

Osho's performance not only showed his personality but also reflected the unity within the Super Eagles as they prepare for upcoming matches. 

The song "Skating," a vibrant hit by Nigerian artist Asake, has gained significant traction and is loved for its catchy rhythm and relatable lyrics. 

Osho's choice of song resonates with fans and players alike, reinforcing the cultural connection that music brings to the team.

In addition to his musical talents, Osho has made headlines for proudly embracing his Yoruba heritage. 

In his first interview, he expressed his excitement about joining the national team and spoke a few words in Yoruba: 

“Both my parents were born in Lagos, ba wo ni to you guys. I am happy to be here.” 

This personal touch has endeared him to supporters who appreciate his commitment to representing Nigeria.

Osho’s journey to the Super Eagles has been one of resilience. Although he was previously invited to join the squad but could not participate due to injury, he finally earned his place after a successful stint with Auxerre in France. 

Reflecting on this opportunity, he stated, “I have been invited before but couldn’t come because of injury... But when this time came, everything kinda aligned and I am grateful to God.”

Osho has been training with the national team ahead of their match against Benin Republic and could make his debut when the Eagles take to the pitch against the Cheetahs on Thursday night.
