Horrific Injury for Haliburton in NBA Finals, Left in Tears and Carried Off the Court
The Oklahoma City Thunder are NBA champions after defeating the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game 7 of the Finals, clinching the series 4-3.
Indiana's woes were compounded by an injury to one of their star players, Tyrese Haliburton.
Tyrese's injury
Haliburton went down in the seventh minute after attempting to dribble following an inbound pass, as reported by Sportal.
He collapsed to the floor in apparent agony, clutching his leg. It appears he may have ruptured his Achilles tendon.
Unable to leave the court under his own power, he was helped off by teammates.
Despite a valiant first-half effort from the Pacers, playing even with the Thunder, the absence of their primary playmaker was felt in the second half.
While the outcome isn't certain, the flow of the game would undoubtedly have been different had he remained on the court.
Adding to Oklahoma City's celebration, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earned his second MVP award of the season, being named Finals MVP.
