Ryan Ogam revealed that the first person to call him after scoring in the two matches was his grandmother, as he explained how her prayers have propelled him to greater heights.

The Tusker FC striker pointed out that his family is the reason behind his impressive form so far and he wants to continue making them proud.

“She (my grandmother) called me today, and I must admit my family are the reason why I’m playing well and I’m representing them. I dedicate this goal to them because their prayers have been doing wonders,” Ryan Ogam said after the match against Zambia.

Ryan Ogam added that he was very proud of the moment and grateful to God and his teammates, noting that without them, he would not have had the opportunity. He added that he was proud to have helped the team reach the next stage.

The 21-year-old added that their focus is now on facing off against Madagascar in their quarterfinal match on Friday, August 22.

He explained that he had not watched their opponents yet, but with a few days to analyse them, that would be their focus at the moment.

“We need to determine how we shall approach them, and we are going for the maximum points. We have the momentum. So far, we haven’t had an easy opponent, and we want to thank God for His grace,” he added.

“Hopefully, against Madagascar, we shall be able to dominate. It’s a great feeling because this has changed our lives for the better, and we don’t take this very lightly.”

As Harambee Stars prepare to face Madagascar in the CHAN 2024 quarterfinals, Ryan Ogam remains determined to carry both his family’s prayers and the nation’s hopes, believing that their unity and momentum can propel them to even greater success.
