Headlining the charge of competitors is Canadian sprint star Aaron Brown. Aaron Brown's impressive resume includes Olympic relay medals from three consecutive Games: gold in Paris (2024), silver in Tokyo (2020), and bronze in Rio (2016).

His pedigree also features a 100m silver from the 2009 World Youth Championships and a 200m bronze from the 2010 edition.

The men's 100m field is further bolstered by American Brandon Hicklin, a World Relays silver medallist, and South Africa’s Gift Leotlela, the 2016 World U20 200m silver medallist.

Both Hicklin and Leotlela will be making their debuts at the Kip Keino Classic, adding even more depth to what promises to be a thrilling race.

The Kenyan sprint sensation made a spectacular debut at the Kip Keino Classic in 2021, finishing second with a blistering time of 9.77 seconds, which remains the African record. He was narrowly beaten by American Trayvon Bromell, who clocked 9.76.

Ferdinand Omanyala bounced back emphatically in 2022, storming to victory in 9.85 seconds ahead of a strong American field that included Fred Kerley (9.92) and Isiah Young (10.13).

He successfully defended his title in 2023 with a time of 9.84, holding off Kenneth Bednarek (9.98) and Marvin Bracy-Williams (10.03).

However, the last two editions have been less favourable for the African record holder. In 2024, he finished a disappointing fifth in 10.03, as Kenny Bednarek claimed the win.

Last year, Ferdinand Omanyala placed third with a time of 10.07, behind Australia’s Lachlan Kennedy and South Africa's Bayanda Walaza.
