Dutch hurdling queen Femke Bol will gun for her 41st consecutive invitational race victory when she competes in the women's 400m Hurdles event at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial on August 12.

The 25-year-old talented hurdler who is undefeated in her trademark event this season, will be looking to add to the victories she achieved in 2020 (54.67s) and 2021 (52.81s), and could even inspire her to attack the meeting record of 51.68s, held by Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.

Femke Bol won 400mH silver medal behind Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon

Having clocked the world-leading time of 51.95s at the Monaco Diamond League, thus becoming the only hurdler to go below the sub-52s mark this season, Bol will hope to put up a better performance at the same stadium she won her first world title in 2023.

She stands as favourite for the win against a formidable line up that includes in-form Canadian record holder Savannah Sutherland, Bahrain's Kemi Adekoya, and USA's duo of Jasmine Jones and Bianca Stubler.

In the absence of world record holder McLaughlin-Levrone, who has opted to race only the 400m at the World Championships in Tokyo next month, Bol will aim to successfully defend her world title, which would make her the first woman since Zuzana Hejnova (2013 and 2015) to achieve such a feat.
