Enyimba lose again despite attack on Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu
Nigerian giants Enyimba suffered another defeat, losing 2-1 to Akwa United in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, match, adding to the pressure on club chairman Nwankwo Kanu.
The loss was the third time in the last five matches that Enyimba have tasted defeat, causing them to drop to eighth place in the league standings.

In the match, Akwa United took the lead in the 26th minute when Jacob Ogunleye scored.
Enyimba responded with an equaliser from Issah Mohammed before halftime.
However, Uche Sabastine secured the win for Akwa United with a goal 15 minutes before the end of the match.
This victory was Akwa United's first in five matches3. Olayemi Ogunleye scored in the 28th minute for Akwa United, while Uche Sebastian netted the winner in the 75th minute.
The defeat occurred amidst rising concerns from fans regarding the club's performance under Kanu's leadership at the club.
A supporter, Agu, publicly criticised Kanu for his alleged absence and urged him to step down if he couldn't manage the chairman's responsibilities as reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
Enyimba have had struggled this season across competitions, with the People’s Elephant also crashing out of the CAFCC group stage.
The poor form led to the sack of youthful coach Yemi Olanrewaju, who was replaced by former league winner Stanley Eguma.

However, despite initial promise under Eguma, the Elephants are still struggling to regain their form.
