The Kenyan 800m sensation further pointed out that, however, once he feels ready, he might compete at the Commonwealth Games later this year, further revealing that he will also be in the Diamond League circuit.
“Nothing was different. I’ve started this season a bit late, but I’m so happy to finish in position four, and my body is okay. Preparations are going on well; this was my first race of the season. I want to work to be fit and build my endurance and get ready to compete, but my focus right now is on training,” Emmanuel Wanyonyi said.
“I will not be competing at the World Indoor Championships because I’m not ready. Thinking about the Commonwealth Games now is too soon, but I want to train first, and if all goes well, I will compete there. My body is not upto speed, but be sure to see me compete in the Diamond League circuit.”
