Donnarumma’s agent excites Manchester United fans with latest comments
Gianluigi Donnarumma’s time at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be nearing an end, and his agent Enzo Raiola has hinted strongly that a Premier League move, with Manchester United among the suitors, could be his next step.
Raiola’s revelations paint a picture of a sudden and contentious breakdown in contract talks with PSG leading to the Italian goalkeeper’s exit.
Raiola slams PSG over contract u-turn
Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, Raiola claimed PSG changed the terms of a new contract agreement at the last moment, despite Donnarumma’s willingness to take a pay cut from his €12 million-a-year salary.
According to Raiola, discussions for an extension had been ongoing until early August, when sporting director Luis Campos informed him that head coach Luis Enrique no longer wanted the Italian in training or the first-team squad.
Raiola expressed disbelief that the decision was purely the coach’s, accusing PSG of lacking faith in their newly signed goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier.
He also described the treatment of Donnarumma, fresh from helping PSG to Champions League glory and earning Ballon d’Or and Yachine Award nominations, as “senseless” and “disrespectful,” adding that legal action might be considered.
Premier League move gains momentum
With his contract set to expire in June 2026 and no Italian clubs willing to meet the financial demands, Raiola has openly admitted that the Premier League is the “right step” for his client.
Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all reportedly monitoring the situation closely. Raiola stressed that Italy’s top clubs are currently in no position to negotiate a deal, leaving England as the most realistic destination.
He also pointed out that several of his other clients consider the Premier League the most competitive league in the world, comments that will only heighten speculation about Old Trafford being Donnarumma’s next home.
For Manchester United fans hoping to see a world-class goalkeeper between the posts, Raiola’s words have added fresh fuel to the transfer rumours.
