Dani Alves' wife Joana Sanz changes her mind on proposed divorce from Brazilian footballer charged with rape

Joana Sanz, the estranged wife of Dani Alves has spoken out in reaction to the footballer’s recent interview.

Alves, 40, has been imprisoned in Brians II and charged to court following accusations by a 23-year-old lady who says the former Barcelona defender raped her in a Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022.

Alves has seen all his appeals for his release on bail rejected and has changed his statement no fewer than four times in the Barcelona court.

Pulse Sports reported that the date for Dani Alves’ trial for rape has been revealed.

The PSG defender has been in prison since January and could face between 8-12 years behind bars should he be found guilty.

Dani Alves who has seen his marriage to Joana Sanz hit a stumbling block, might now find a reason to smile over his estranged wife’s latest comments.

Joana Sanz, 29, was reportedly upset over Alves’ interview last week, and told the journalist Leticia Requejo, also from El programa de Ana Rosa, that she was very angry because she considered that the Brazilian footballer had put her back in the media spotlight.

"I don't want to know anything about Dani. I totally pass, let Dani do, undo and speak what he wants," the Tenerife model is reported to have told the journalist as per Cuatro al día.

However, Sanz, who had previously revealed her intention to divorce the former Pumas and PSG defender took to her social media page to clarify what she meant in her reaction to Dani Alves’ recent interview.

Sanz’s statement confirms that her plans to separate from the footballer are currently on hold, pending the outcome of the trial.

The Spanish model is still very much in love with her husband and has constantly shown that since his arrest earlier this year.

Pulse Sports reported that she penned a romantic birthday note to him when he turned 40 in May, and she has also been spotted visiting the footballer while he remains in temporary detention.
