Despite this significant recognition by teammates and fans, Caicedo remains unsatisfied with his own performance, insisting there is still more to achieve.

“I am very happy with what I have been doing in this team during the season, how I have helped the team, and now I’m going to keep trying to reach another level,” said Caicedo. "That is my mentality.

“It’s going to be a great tournament and I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a great feeling to be here and everyone is working hard to make sure we perform well. That is the most important thing.

“In every game we are going to give our best and do as much as possible to reach our target.”

The Ecuadorian then commented on Chelsea's latest arrivals — Liam Delap, Dario Essugo, Mike Penders and Mamadou Sarr — noting that he makes a conscious effort to assist new players, offering support and guidance, particularly to those who speak Spanish like the returning Andrey Santos and Essugo.

“I always try to help the new players in the squad,” added Caicedo. “Mamadou has the French players, of course. Andrey is close to me and I can help him, Dario also as he speaks Spanish.

“I try to help them in any way I can, but I also try to show them. I want to show them every day on the pitch what I do, how I train, how I am as a professional.”

What’s next for Chelsea?

After facing LAFC on Monday, Chelsea will play Flamengo on June 20 and ES Tunis five days later in their Club World Cup campaign.
